25th Anniversary of the
Barney Clark Implant
December 2007 - On Dec. 2, 1982, Dr. Willem Kolff’s 35 years of dedication to the development of a Total Artificial Heart culminated in the first human implant of the Jarvik 7 (precursor to the SynCardia Total Artificial Heart) into 61-year-old dentist Dr. Barney Clark. This 25th anniversary tribute video, produced in 2007 by Channel 5 KSL – Salt Lake City, celebrates the legacy of this medical breakthrough.
