October 2007 - On Aug. 10, 2007, 28-year-old Vanessa Cirillo was implanted with a SynCardia temporary CardioWest™ Total Artificial Heart at University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. She received her donor heart transplant on Nov. 24, 2007.
