SynCardia’s Total Artificial Heart

February 2011 - The Total Artificial Heart program at VCU Medical Center in Richmond was launched in 2006 and has evolved into the most prolific program in the country, with more than 50 Total Artificial Hearts implanted thus far.

NOTE: The SynCardia temporary Total Artificial Heart was formerly known as the SynCardia temporary CardioWest™ Total Artificial Heart.
