SynCardia implant drivers support patients from implantation of the SynCardia temporary Total Artificial Heart until their condition stabilizes. Once stable, patients are switched to the small and wearable Freedom® driver system to enjoy life at home while they wait for a matching donor heart for transplant.

The Companion Driver represents the next generation in pneumatic driver technology.

Easy to Learn, Easy to Use

The Companion Driver’s intuitive interface makes training fast and easy. The user-friendly touchscreen provides access to all driver functions and modes… no keyboard required.

Three Operating Modes

• Operating Room – All features and functions are available to calibrate the Total Artificial Heart according to each patient’s individual needs.
• ICU – Full access is provided to alarm modes and monitoring of critical functions.
• Stable – Once the patient is stable, heart rate and drive pressures need no adjustment.

For the OR and ICU, the Companion Driver is docked into the Hospital Cart. For stable patient mobility around the hospital, the Companion Driver is docked into a portable caddy.

Serviced by Replacement

To make it simpler for hospitals and patients, the Companion Driver is serviced by replacement. No on-site repair service or inventory of parts is required. Drivers are delivered and returned via express delivery service.

The user-friendly touchscreen provides access to all driver functions and modes.
