SynCardia implant drivers support patients from implantation of the SynCardia temporary Total Artificial Heart until their condition stabilizes. Once stable, through an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) clincial study, patients who meet study criteria may have the option to be discharged from the hospital with the Freedom® driver system. 

“Big Blue” Hospital Driver

“Big Blue” is the original hospital driver, nicknamed for its large size and color. Ultra-reliable and robust in design, it powers the SynCardia Total Artificial Heart in the hospital.
