March 19, 2008 - Except for the occasional cold, 28-year-old Vanessa Cirillo had never been sick a day in her life. But in 2000, a virus had attacked her heart, causing a very serious condition. Still she managed to function fairly well. But last year, that all changed and she was admitted to University Medical Center where she received an artificial heart.
