National Geographic: Artificial Heart Implant Surgery

Prof. Roland Hetzer, M.D., chairman of the German Heart Institute Berlin, implants a CardioWest™ temporary Total Artificial Heart (TAH-t) into 62-year-old patient Siegfried Streiter.

This Director’s Cut (2:02) is almost four times longer than the original 35-second video, allowing web viewers to see more of how this life-saving surgery is performed. Watch the original video at National Geographic’s web site.
